OVTC PRAISED FOR EXCELLENT SKILLS DEVELOPMENT IN TVET

OKAKARARA - The Okakarara Vocational Training Centre management met with three City of Windhoek Officials on the peripheries of a meeting with the Okakarara Town Council on Monday.

The officials discussed areas of mutual interests and collaboration. Some of the areas the team looked at is a Memorandum of Understanding, job attachment opportunities and workshops upgrading through donations.

Mr. Kahiurika from the City of Windhoek highlighted how the OVTC graduates are industry leaders. The skills they have gained from the training institution are top notch. This is supplemented by the introduction of new trades and some are reviewed such as Automotive Mechatronics, Facility Maintenance and others.

The team from the City of Windhoek also highlighted the apprenticeship program in Windhoek, industrial exposure program for graduates to be integrated into the workforce market in the country for a period of two or three years.

A commitment was made by the City of Windhoek to attach 5 trainees from the Automotive Mechatronics trade immediately. Mr. Kahiurika further stated that the mechatronics trade has become a necessity in the automotive industry.

The team from the City of Windhoek comprise of Mr. Israel Kahiurika, Mr. Nguvitjita Kapere and Mr. Simey Kanuameva.

The OVTC Management thanked the team for visiting the Centre and looking forward to a fruitful relationship for the year 2025.
