Okakarara, 18 April 2026 – The Okakarara Vocational Training Centre (OVTC) hosted a high-level engagement on Saturday, 18 April 2026, to strengthen collaboration with the German Sparkassenstiftung to advance entrepreneurial training and capacity building.
The meeting brought together representatives from both institutions to explore ways of deepening their partnership, with a shared focus on growing micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the Otjozondjupa Region and across Namibia. Mr. Markus Tacke, Southern African Regional Head, and Ms. Angela Njunju, Country Representative in Namibia, represented the German Sparkassenstiftung delegation.
Both representatives expressed strong enthusiasm for the collaboration and underscored the importance of coordinated efforts in supporting entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and institutional capacity development as key drivers of sustainable economic growth.
OVTC Centre Manager, Mr. Moses Tjirare, shared the Centre’s strategic expansion plans and highlighted how OVTC continues to position itself as a hub for innovative and entrepreneurial thinking. He emphasized the Centre’s commitment to equipping trainees and the broader community with practical skills that respond to local and national economic needs.
As a key outcome of the meeting, the Okakarara Vocational Training Centre and the German Sparkassenstiftung signed a Letter of Intent, formally expressing their mutual willingness to collaborate on a range of agreed activities over a period of two years. The Letter of Intent serves as a foundation for cooperation while a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is being finalized.
This engagement marks an important milestone in OVTC’s efforts to build strategic partnerships that enhance training quality, support MSME development, and contribute to regional and national socio-economic development.
